EZ Tour Egypt is an Egyptian tour operator. We are based in Egypt, our guides are Egyptian, and the person who answers your first message is usually the person who will still be looking after your trip when you land.
We build private, tailor-made itineraries — the pyramids and the Egyptian Museum, Nile cruises between Luxor and Aswan, Abu Simbel, the Red Sea, and the quieter places most itineraries skip. We are not a booking marketplace and we do not resell someone else's tour. We run the trips we sell.
How We Work
Most Egypt itineraries you find online are the same seven stops in the same order, priced by a company that has never walked them. Ours start the other way round — from what you actually want out of the trip.
- You tell us what matters. Dates, how many days, how many people, and what you most want to see. If you do not know yet, that is a normal place to start.
- We write you an itinerary, not a quote. A day-by-day plan with what is included and what it costs, so you can see where the money goes.
- You change it. Most people do, two or three times. That is what tailor-made means.
- We run it on the ground. Your guide, your driver, your boat, arranged by us and answerable to us.
- We stay reachable while you travel. One WhatsApp thread, same team, whole trip.
Why Being Local Actually Matters Here
Egypt is a country where the difference between a good day and a wasted one is often knowing something small: which entrance at Karnak avoids the coach parties, which hour to reach the Valley of the Kings before the heat, which Nile boats are genuinely maintained and which just photograph well.
That knowledge does not come from a supplier catalogue. It comes from living here. It is also why we can tell you honestly when something is not worth your money — a sound-and-light show, an overpriced add-on, a domestic flight you do not need.
Our Guides
Every guide we use is a licensed Egyptian tour guide. In Egypt that means a university degree in Egyptology, archaeology or a related field, plus a licence from the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities that has to be carried on site and renewed.
It is not a formality. Unlicensed "guides" operate at every major site in Egypt, and the difference is obvious within ten minutes of a temple wall. We do not use them.
Licensing and Company Details
EZ Tour Egypt trades under the tourism licence of its parent company, Watania Tours (registered as The National Company for Tourism Services), licensed by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism.
- Licence number: 547
- Issued: 27 February 1985
- Issued by: Ministry of Tourism — Tourism Companies and Tourist Establishments Sector, Central Department for Tourism Companies
- Category: Category (A), under Article 2(A) of Law No. 38 of 1977
Two things are worth drawing out of that. The first is the date: the licence has been held since 1985, which means the company behind your booking has been operating in Egyptian tourism for forty years — through every downturn the industry has had.
The second is the category. A Category (A) licence is the full tourism operating licence in Egypt. It authorises organising group and individual trips inbound and outbound, providing transport and accommodation, issuing and selling travel tickets, acting as agent for airlines and other carriers, and operating transport by land, sea, air and river. It is the licence class that allows a company to run the whole trip itself rather than subcontract it.
Checking that an operator is licensed is worth doing anywhere, and particularly in Egypt, where a good deal of business is done informally. A licence is what makes your booking a contract with a regulated company rather than an arrangement with an individual — and it is why we can carry ground-handling responsibility for your whole trip, and why you have somewhere to go if something goes wrong.
If you would like to see the licence document itself before booking, ask us and we will send it — get in touch.
What Our Travellers Say
We hold a 5.0 rating across 184 verified Tripadvisor reviews, written by people who travelled with us between 2019 and today. We have published all of them, including the ones that point out where we could have done better — you can read the lot on our guest reviews page.
Working With the Travel Trade
Alongside our direct trips we act as a ground handler and destination management company for agencies and operators sending clients to Egypt. If you are contacting us on behalf of a business rather than as a traveller, our Egypt DMC page sets out how that works.
