MS Alexander The Great Nile Cruise Itinerary

4 Days / 3 Nights (Aswan to Luxor)

Day 1: Aswan

  • Arrival and Embarkation: Arrive in Aswan and be greeted by our representative. Transfer to the MS Alexander The Great Nile Cruise and embark on your journey. Enjoy a welcome drink and settle into your luxurious cabin.
  • Sightseeing: Begin your exploration with a visit to the Aswan High Dam, an engineering marvel that controls the Nile’s floodwaters. Continue to the Unfinished Obelisk, an ancient quarry that offers insight into Egyptian stone working techniques. Conclude the day with a visit to the beautiful Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis.
  • Meals: Lunch and dinner on board.
  • Overnight: On board in Aswan.

Day 2: Kom Ombo and Edfu

  • Sailing to Kom Ombo: After breakfast, sail to Kom Ombo, home to the unique twin temple dedicated to Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus, the falcon-headed god. Explore the temple and the Crocodile Museum, which displays mummified crocodiles.
  • Sailing to Edfu: Continue sailing to Edfu. Enjoy a relaxing lunch on board while taking in the scenic views of the Nile.
  • Edfu Temple Visit: Upon arrival in Edfu, visit the Temple of Horus, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt. Experience a traditional horse-drawn carriage ride to the temple.
  • Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner on board.
  • Overnight: On board in Edfu.

Day 3: Luxor (West Bank)

  • Sailing to Luxor: Early morning sail to Luxor. Enjoy breakfast on board as you cruise along the Nile.
  • West Bank Exploration: Visit the West Bank of Luxor, starting with the Valley of the Kings, the burial place of pharaohs including the tomb of Tutankhamun (additional ticket required). Continue to the Temple of Hatshepsut, an architectural masterpiece dedicated to Egypt’s first female pharaoh. Conclude with a stop at the Colossi of Memnon, two massive statues of Amenhotep III.
  • Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner on board.

Day 4: Luxor (East Bank)

  • East Bank Exploration: After breakfast, disembark and visit the East Bank attractions, including the magnificent Karnak Temple, a vast complex with temples, chapels, and pylons. Proceed to Luxor Temple, renowned for its grand colonnades and statues.
  • Departure: Transfer to Luxor Airport or your next destination.

Day 1: Luxor (East Bank)

Day 2: Luxor (West Bank) and Edfu
